Well, we moved to Merritt Island, Florida, and I am just going to say WOW! I loved everything about it. I lived only 5 minutes away from the beach and the mall. It was so foreign and yet so familiar. Going to school there terrified me on the first day. I didn't no anybody at all: no friends, no family, no one. But then, I made the most amazing friends. They were all different races and personality types in one group, and it was awesome. I began to feel like I belonged there. Then I met a guy and we started dating and life was good for me there. The weekends were always fun and never boring, and I finally found somewhere that really felt like home. Of course nothing lasts forever unfortunately. My parents again sat me down and explained that we were moving back to Colombia. I was OK with it at first, but I didn't want to leave this life I had gained and built in Florida. In January, the day came, and I was upset and angry. I mean of course I have friends in Colombia, but it's hard to leave the new and go back to the old.
Moving back to Colombia was difficult, at first, and fortunately I have Skype and Facebook to keep in touch with my boyfriend and my friends. Let me tell you, speaking Spanish when I am out of the house is still hard to get used to again. I'll be honest; I'm not very enthusiastic to be back, and I miss my home in the US. Atleast, Manizales is familiar to me, and I do have great friends here so I can't complain. I am glad to be back in a way, and luckily I get to spend the summer in Florida so I will be OK till then.
