So as many of you know I love to read! It's no secret that books are basically my best friends (except maybe not text books). A lot of people don't understand how I could read for fun, and I understand where they come from. But if I'm not reading then I am ranting or raving about a book I've finished. I know everyone has something they get excited about; mine is reading, just in case that wasn't made clear. And you are going to learn why.
I know this is going to sound cliche, but books are like a door into other worlds. When life gets rough, I just open a book. When I'm reading, I'm not expected to do anything. I can live a whole different life within a book. It may seem childish, but without books to help my imagination grow, I don't think I could accomplish half of the things I have done.
Another reason for this is that, through books you learn about the world and life, again very cliche. I always want to know more; I'm curious about everything. And books definitely help that. I like to know what other people have to say about certain subjects. Books help me get of the box called society.
And yes, if you see me with a book and I'm laughing or about to cry, its probably because I am all wrapped up in a world that the author has created. I might cry when the book gets unbearably depressing (don't laugh) and smile uncontrollably when something awesome happens, but that is my escape from the real world. I honestly don't know what I would do with out my outlet. Hi, my name is Alexandra, and I'm a bookaholic.
